Cops seize £60,000 of heroin in house raid

COPS have seized £60,000 of drugs during a raid on a house in West Lothian.

Officers made the heroin seizure last Wednesday (December 14) after acting on information received during their ‘Made from Crime’ campaign, which encouraged the public to provide information on suspected criminals.

In addition to drugs, officers also seized over £1000 cash in the raid on the property in Auldhill Crescent, Bridgend.

A 50-year-old man was arrested and charged with drugs offences, and appeared at Livingston Sheriff Court on Friday (December 16), when he was remanded in custody.

A Lothian and Borders Police spokesman thanked the public for providing information which had led to the drugs’ seizure.

He said: “The recovery of this substantial quantity of drugs was made thanks to information provided by the public, and demonstrates our commitment to acting on information we receive on alleged criminals operating in local communities.

“We would urge anyone who suspects that people are profiting from crime in their community to contact Crimestoppers in confidence and complete anonymity on 0800 555 111.”
