UNTIL three years ago mother-of-two Melanie Donaldson had lived a healthy life.
The 37-year-old ran a successful florist’s business from home while looking after children Cameron, 12, and eight-year-old Caitlin.
But Melanie’s world started to unravel when she was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis after suffering a deterioration in her eyesight, migraines, and problems walking.
But the Livingston woman is determined not to let the illness defeat her and is on a mission to raise awareness of the condition as well as help boost the funds of the charity, MS Society Scotland, by hosting a fun day at Livingston Rugby Club on Sunday, May 6.
Here Melanie tells the Courier the story of her struggle with a disease that affects over 10,000 people in Scotland, where there is the highest rate of incidence of multiple sclerosis in the world.
