A CONSTRUCTION and property company based in the West Lothian has secured £4.9 million of new contracts.
Ashwood Scotland, based in Whitburn, has won a £3.5m contract to refurbish the B-listed Scotstoun House in South Queensferry and to build a £1m community centre in Armadale.
The successes mean new job opportunities for site managers and skilled operatives.
It has also won smaller contracts for Barclay Church of Scotland in the capital and a car park for baker Warburtons in Bellshill.
The company specialises in refurbishment and new build in the commercial, industrial, public and housing sectors and in the past did work at Hampden Park for the 2002 UEFA Champions League Final.
Furthermore, the company, who have 22 permanent staff and 45 site operatives, work for a number of local authorities including West Lothian, the City of Edinburgh, North Lanarkshire, East Lothian and Falkirk.
Archie Meikle, the firm’s managing director, also revealed that the successful company was in what he described as ‘advanced discussions’ regarding a £2m contract in West Lothian.
