Golf: Deer Park set for major expansion

DEER PARK Golf and Country Club rolled out the green carpet this week for the launch of an all-new promotional DVD.

The DVD, produced by David McKinnon of Invent Media, was played to a group of keen golfers from West Lothian and beyond including former Scotland football stars Tommy Boyd and Andy Walker and colourful commentator Archie McPherson.

Deer Park Golf and Country Club is the jewel in West Lothian’s golfing crown and developers and owners JW Muir Group have plans for an all-new 60 room hotel.

Plans to build next to the course are currently with West Lothian Council who are holding a public inquiry.

A J W Muir Group spokesperson said: “We have already invested £14 million into Deer Park but we are keen to invest another £6 million into a hotel.

“We feel this is what we need to continue to grow and provide service to wedding and corporate markets.”
