GOLFERS from throughout West Lothian swung into action to help charity recently.
At a fundraising event for Macmillan Cancer Support, held at Ladybank Golf Club in Fife, a West Lothian golfer took first place in the stableford team event.
Steve Cunningham of Newton West Lothian shared the joint winning place with Bill Dickman of East Fife, as members and coaches of the Scottish Disability Golf Partnership took part in the challenge.
The main aim of the day however, was to raise funds for the Macmillan Cancer support.
And the teams aided by a silent auction and some donations earned £2500 for the charity as a result of the day.
Steve Cunningham said: “It was great to play such a prestigious course and on such a fine day.
“We all enjoyed our golf and to raise such a good total for such a worthwhile cause, concluded a great day all round.
“The event coordinator Caroline and the team at Macmillan do a great job and deserve
all our support.”
