STUDENTS from Steps Dance School competed in their first ever competition recently and exceeded even the loftiest of expectations.
The youngsters from the Dance Class were thrilled to be competing in the Scot-cheer competition and returned to their home village of Blackridge with fantastic results and praise.
Top of the class were those in the Pee Wee Hip Hop Division as they took first Place. Those in both the junior and senior hip hop division’s also im pressed, taking second spot in each category.
Steps Dance School founder and teacher Kirtsy Smith couldn’t hide her delight admitting: “I can't begin to tell how proud I am. Everyone involved in Steps is extremely proud of all the participants and their hard work.
“The children love taking part in the dance classes which are fun and energetic. The pupils and teachers at Steps also work extremely hard preparing for shows that we put on each year to raise money for charity.”
Kirsty founded Steps five years ago and the school has gone from strength to strength. They rehearse every week in the Craiginn Centre in Blackridge and boast more than 100 pupils.
