ALLANDALE Tarn at West Calder have the first set of dates set for theirŠ2009 eveningŠcourses — from intro to fly fishing, or fly tying, to advanced and specialised courses.
A full range and details on all the courses can be found at www.allandaletarn.com.
On the loch itself, Allandale’s resident brownies have been providing excellent sport, taking spiders and CDC’s earlier in the day.
General favourites since the big thaw have been black fritz or nymphs in the morning, hot head damsels around noon, then back on to smaller favourites like B and S buzzers and a dry later in the day.
The annual Allandale versus Howwood winter league was finally won by team Allandale.
After four heats, despite team Howwood landing one trout more at a total of 114 for 270lbs (fish capped at 3lb), Allandale took the win with an impressive 1lb 15oz at the final weigh in.
