Bug knocks Morrison out of Elite race

BROXBURN triathlete Catriona Morrison was beaten last weekend by a severe tummy bug which dashed her hopes of competing in the Strathclyde Park Elite Triathlon on Sunday.

The current World Long Distance Duathlon champion has beaten the world’s best athletes on bikes and on her feet but she couldn’t shake off the bug in time to take her place at the starting blocks.

Morrison will be back in action this weekend when she travels to Budapest for the European Duathlon Championships.
