WRESTLING action returns to West Lothian this weekend when the grapple stars of the Scottish School of Wrestling (SSW) bring Showdown to Bathgate Scout Hall.
The latest blockbuster installment of the Scottish School of Wrestling promises to be one to remember after it was confirmed that international star Jason Rotanda will be back.
Rotanda, originally from Fraserburgh, made his SSW debut at last month’s Summersmash and having seen the roster in action has boasted he is easily the best wrestler.
And he will have the chance to prove that is the case this weekend after being granted a title shot against current SSW Worlds champ Ben N Jeremi.
Meanwhile, the elder Jeremi sibling, former champ Ron, is scheduled to make an appearance to confront newcomer BT Gunn.
At Summersmash Gunn, who is a dead ringer for Ron Jeremi, was repeatedly mistaken for the SSW veteran and lost patience with the fans.
As a result the frustrated Gunn tore strips of Jeremi’s character labelling him the worst wrestler he has ever seen.
How fans favourite Jeremi will deal with that slight remains to be seen.
The new owner of the SSW is also tipped to make a welcome return to the ring in response to a brutal assault at the last show.
Muzlem was jumped and badly beaten by newcomer Kevin Brudaker — in an attack which can be seen on SSW website www.spwo.co.uk — and should the two cross paths at Showdown this week then sparks will fly.
Muzlem has a well earned reputation as one of the stiffest and most brutal wrestlers in the UK and wrestling observers reckon the young Brudaker has made the biggest mistake of his life in his bid to make a name for himself.
If Muzlem catches up with him then SSW fans can expect to see a host of tables, chairs and a feast of hardcore wrestling.
And he admits to being angered by the actions of the promising young grappler and has sworn to get his revenge.
Muzlem said: “I had stepped away from in ring action to spend time with my kids and my family and let my body recover a bit as I have had a torn right rotator cuff for some time now while I also recently broke my hand on a show.
“However, when young guys like this start attacking me in the back at training and laying me out from behind then they had better get ready to forget all about the likes of Hulk Hogan and The Rock and better get ready to just go.
“I am not going be bouncing about stomping my feet, dropping leg drops whilst taunting the fans.
“No way, because when you see Muzlem wrestle you don’t just see the impact.
“You hear it and feel it as there is no Hollywood stuff with me.
“And if the fans thought I was brutal before then just wait to see what happens to Brudaker.
“Professionalism went out the window when he jumped me last week.
“This is purely personal.”
Also confirmed to be in action are tag team champions Team Starr and the 300lb Dark Angel.
