THE Scotwaste Monarchs race in one of the big meetings of the season at Armadale Stadium tomorrow with a start time of 7.30pm.
It is the final of the Premier Playoffs (first leg) and it is virtually certain to be against King’s Lynn.
Monarchs won this competition last season and last Friday completed victory over Newcastle in the semi-final in a very tight contest.
The other semi between King’s Lynn and Birmingham has not been completed yet but King’s Lynn are four points up after the leg at Birmingham and so are virtually certain to reach the final.
King’s Lynn will be tracking the new World Under-21 Champion Darcy Ward, a true prodigy at the age of 17.
He has yet to be seen at his best at Armadale. They will use a guest for the injured Tomas Topinka.
Their tie winner last time was Swedish reserve Linus Eklof and Monarchs will need to keep him quiet.
Meanwhile, the Monarchs are looking for a new reserve rider after South African rider Byron Bekker decided to call it quits for the season.
Byron has been a good team man and the Monarchs wish him well for the future.
Assuming King’s Lynn do reach the final the second leg will be next Tuesday at the Norfolk Arena.
