THE weather was consistently inconsistent at Bangour Trout Fishery during September.
The fishery bore the brunt of some high winds but fortunately the gusts didn’t put the fish off and a large number of limit bags were taken on a variety of methods.
Dries at times were deadly, buzzers fished on a floating line were very consistent with black, olive and brown being the best colours.
And at times fluorescent green buzzers fished shallow from an indicator worked brilliantly. Intermediate lines and lures are now the most consistent takers with top lures being yellow dancer, black dancer, hothead damsel, black or black / green fritz and minkies.
The best fish of the month were: Alex Wilkie of Coatbridge 13lb 12oz, I Durie of Edinburgh 13lb, Graeme Paris of Stirling 13lb and A Reid of Alloa 13lb.
The big fish board this month showed 51 fish landed were between 5lb and 13lb 12oz with an average weight of 3lb 4oz.
