Wrestling: Scottish School of Wrestling ready for first show of 2010

EIGHT men will take to the ring putting their bodies on the line in a bid to be crowned King of the Bing and earn with it a shot at the SSW world title.

Each of the final eight wrestling stars will pull out all the stops as they eye the chance to earn bragging rights and the chance to win championship gold but there will only be one winner.

On Friday, January 30, the Scottish School of Wrestling are staging thier first show of 2010 and it promises to be a slobber-knocker.

The eight wrestlers confirmed for the annual King of the Bing chaos are Falcon, Kevin Brudaker, Kid Fite, Ken Adams, Chris Bang, Nikki Storm, Ron Jeremi and an unnamed wild-card participant.

Former SSW World Champ Jeremi is one of the favourites for the tournament as his family boast an unparalleled King of the Bing tradition.

There has been a member of the Jeremi brood, the SSW’s first family, in the final of all but one of the annual events.

So the pressure is being heaped on Jeremi to uphold that proud tradition later this month.

Another wrestler looking to grab his opportunity is former tag-team specialist Ken Adams.

Formerly one half of Team Starr, Adams is now flying solo after former tag-team partner Matt Starr announced he was quitting the SSW.

The King of the Bing event is one of the most important on the SSW calendar as the winner earns a title shot which can be cashed in at any time over the next 12 months.

Winners in 2008 and 2009 were Chris Bang and Ben N Jeremi, who both picked their moments to cash in their shots at glory and both became SSW World Champions as a result.

Also confirmed for the show is fans favourite Muzlem, who will be making his first appearance since losing the title at last month’s Redemption show.

The King of the Bing event is taking place on Saturday, January 30, in Bathgate Scout Hall.

Doors open at 6.30pm with the first bell scheduled for 7pm and tickets will be available at the door.
