IT RAINED in Spain but even a wet track couldn’t put a dampner on Paul di Resta’s debut Formula One test session.
The Bathgate Bullet took to the circuit in the Force India car competing against the likes of F1 legend Michael Schumacher and former Formula Three Euroseries rival and world champion Lewis Hamilton.
And for much of the test session di Resta left the world champs trailing in his slipstream
Di Resta was posting incredible lap-times in the morning where he was placed fourth on the charts.
A late change in the weather saw lap-times quicken and the West Lothian wonder finished his session sixth — just 2.5secs off Sebastian Vettel’s Red Bull at the top of the pile.
In all, Di Resta completed 76 laps and improved his times throughout the day.
His performances provided the team with valuable data as they prepare for the approaching season.
