Paul di Resta stars on Spanish track

PAUL di Resta steered his Formula One supercar home in 13th place in testing sessions ahead of last weekend’s Spanish Grand Prix.

The Bathgate Bullet was in great form as he competed on the Circuit de Catalunya where he completed 21 laps in 1:23.030 for the 13th fastest time of the day.

He said: “Having had the experience of the first three races and having got more familiar with Adrian’s car, I think I started where I left off in China.

“I feel this time it didn’t take too long to get up to speed.

“We got some productive running, particularly in the early part of the session, which is when the track was slightly quicker.

“I got a better impression of the circuit and we ran through the schedule as planned.

“This included some baseline work and tyre comparisons - it was a good morning session and I was pleased with my efforts.”
