Livingston swimmer handed School Games call

SWIMMING sensation Robert Dalgleish of Livingston has been selected to compete on behalf of England at the 2010 Sainsbury’s UK School Games hosted by the North East of England.

Dalgleish, 14 who attends James Young High School will compete in the 100m Backstroke against the UK’s school-aged elite being held at the Sunderland Aquatic Centre in September.

A delighted Dalgleish said: “It’s a great opportunity to experience competing in a big event like the UK School Games, living with the other athletes and getting a fantastic insight into what it would be like to take part in a Commonwealth or Olympic event .

“I can’t wait to take part.”
