Wolves net cash boost during fundraising shoot-out

THE West Lothian Wolves netted a triple cash boost this week with two local companies providing sponsorship and the squad themselves raising money following a shoot-out.

The county basketball stars hosted a specially arranged shoot-out at Armadale Academy to help boost the coffers of the club.

At the shoot-out people were encouraged to predict the number of baskets scored into six baskets over the course of an hour.

The closest prediction will receive a voucher from one of our main sponsors of the county club, the Hilcroft Hotel.

On this occasion, the club managed to score a double whammy, with 2000 baskets scored and £350 raised for their funds.

The players, coaches and officials from the club were also boosted by the handover of two sponsorship cheques — from Tesco Bathgate and the Hilcroft Hotel inWhitburn respectively.

The club already boast an impressive selection of eight teams.

These range from primary age group to seniors for both male and females, and are set for a further change of direction after the club unveiled a new logo.

In order to bring in the change of logo on the players kit the Wolves committee sought local sponsorship in order to purchase new kit for designated teams within the club.

Tesco Bathgate donated money to pay for new warm up shirts for the under 16 boys to wear before games whilst the Hilcroft Hotel sponsored the under 18 men to allow them to buy new warm up shirts for the new season.

The new shirts will be emblazoned with the new club logo on the front and will boast the sponsors names on the back.

The club is still on the look out for more local sponsors and would welcome any sponsorship large or small from local firms.

In addition to looking for club sponsors, the Wolves actively fundraise themselves in order to raise enough money for the club to operate the club year on year.

The club held a bag-packing event in Livingston on Christmas Eve, to raise even more funds to allow them to purchase shooting tops for all of the teams.
