RAIN on Saturday meant West Lothian County Cricket Club’s matches were washed out.
County First XI travelled to Edinburgh to play SMRH First XI at Inverleith in the SNCL Championship Division match.
On the way the rain started and when the team arrived at Inverleith, there was a schools match being played on the same wicket as the SNCL match.
When the school match finished the captains and umpires cancelled the SNCL match, forcing both teams to return home.
Also on Saturday afternoon County Second XI were hosting Drummond/Trinity First XI at Boghall in the East League Division Three match. Rain fell at Boghall and made play impossible, so the match was cancelled.
The County Third XI had better luck initially when they travelled up to Livingston to play their Second XI at Dresselrigg in the East League Division Six match.
Livingston batted first, scoring 94 for 2 in 26 overs, with C Heaney 43 not out and D Hall 22 not out; Alastair Napoli one for 25 and Mattie Norris one for 27.
At this stage of the match the wicket became unplayable due to rain and the match was abandoned with a nil result posted.
