LOTHIAN Running Club's Chloe Cox won the female race at Saturday's Edinburgh Parkrun.
This was her third win in succession in the race. Also finishing 9th in the overall classification, Chloe stopped the clock at 18 minutes 28 seconds for the 5K course which was just outside her personal best which she had set a fortnight prior at [18.14].
Two of the Livingston-based club runners who did set personal bests on this occasion were Colin Partridge who finished in 3rd place in [17.03] nine seconds quicker than when he finished runner-up seven days earlier. Stephen Malcolm whose time of [20.26] in 29th place was a massive 39 seconds quicker than his previous best set back in April.
Making up the club's representation was Shona Young who came home in [23.59] which placed her 87th overall and 14th female. 198 runners completed the course.
Two runners from the club contested the Falkirk Parkrun. John Malcolm finished well up in 6th place in [20.27] with Mags Turnbull 53rd and 10th female in [27.45]. 94 ran.
Lothian Running Club had eight runners amongst the huge field of 860 that lined up for Sunday's Stirling 10k Road Race which also incorporated the Scottish Championship.
Two of the club's representatives Ross Milne [33.36] and Max McNeil [33.49] finished well up in 25th and 28th places respectively. Max was also runner-up in the 15-19 years category.
The duo were followed over the finish line by three female members, 283rd Suzie Hannah [43.32], 290th Marie Storrie [43.41] and 326th Leanne Webster [45.04]. Then came the three veterans, 384th Kenny Mearns [46.40], 388th Ian Legget [46.41] and 394th Martin Greig [46.57].
A trio of club runners were also in hill running action at Aboyne, Herbie McLean took 1st place in the Hyper Veteran category at the Morven Hill Race while in the 1.8km Caerketton Downhill Race Ally Robertson finished 6th equal in 5 minutes 46 seconds with John Malcolm 27th in 6m 46s.
Three club members were among the masses who took part in Sundays televised Great North Run.
Graham McIntyre finished 671st with a time of 1 hour 29 minutes 17 seconds while Paul and Shona Young crossed the finish line in 2443rd and 3748th respectively.
l Lothian Running Club member Edel Mooney staged a successful 3k charity event in aid of “First Aid 4 Gambia'” raising £349.
The fundraiser was held at Civic Centre in Livingston.
