Karate club silverware

EAST Whitburn Karate Club instructor Matt Mackay looked on proudly as his pupils show off their silverware collected in their respective categories at the recent Kata Academy Championships at Wester Hailes.

Zara Nicol and Lucy Hamilton claimed first place for the categories with Olivia Gilmour, Adam Gilmour and Lewis Dickson both finishing runner-up.

Laura Nather and Abby Cowan were both third place in the individual section while Paul Lally finished third in the pairing.

Jordan Baird was also third in the individual and pairs section.

A spokesperson for the club praised all the members for their excellent showing at the championships.
