ASTRO Gymnastics have West Lothian Sports Council to thank for their brand new pre-school equipment.
The group were handed a grant to pay for trestle tables, beanbags and scarves after applying for funding.
And head coach Caroline Gourlay is delighted to see the club’s young members benefiting from the cash.
She said: “The new equipment makes such a difference to the young ones.
“It gives them a much wider variety of things they can do and allows us to broaden what is in our training sessions.
“We keep the classes fairly small to give them the most support we can, so we don’t take in a lot of money.
“We just wouldn’t have been able to pay for the equipment without the grant.
“Knowing that money is there when it is needed makes such a difference.
“You can be far more ambitious with what you want the club and its members to achieve.”
Caroline’s club applied for the funding in May and ordered the new equipment as soon as they were told the grant had been approved.
Now the youngsters are reaping the benefits every session.
