TWO West Lothian schoolboy hockey players took home winner’s medals from the Scottish Hockey Under-16 Inter District Championships.
Stuart Hatton, 15, and John McCluskey, 14, played key roles in their East District U-16’s final victory over the West District, which ended 2-1.
Both players were chosen for the squad after an eight-week training and selection process.
They were part of the 18 player squad that clinched victory at the Peffermill National Stadium.
Both boys will hope the win will lead to them playing at a higher level in the Inter District Competition, allowing Scotland’s international coaches and managers scouting for up-and-coming talent to check out their progress.
Stuart is in his fourth year at West Calder and can play at right-back, right-midfield or right-wing.
He is a member of Inverleith Hockey Club in Edinburgh.
John – who plays right-midfield for Cala Edinburgh – lives in Livingston and attends Deans High School.
