West Lothian Swimming Championships held in Deans High

SWIMMERS from across the region descended upon Deans Community High School.

The 170 competitors, aged from eight to 18-years-old, from six of the member clubs, were taking part in the West Lothian Championships.

For the second year running since introduction of the blue/yellow team element, the yellow team won, but only by 52 points.

George Thomson, who recently retired from West Lothian Council where he was the sport and outdoor education manager with the education and culture service, attended the West Lothian Championships to present the trophies. George accompanied Swim West Lothian in 2009 to Neheim-Husten, Germany to their international swimming festival, as part of the Twinning Association arrangement.

In appreciation of George’s involvement and work with Swim West Lothian since it’s inception, he was presented with a memento at the West Lothian Championships.
