Di Resta ends F1 season on a high

PAUL Di RESTA ended his debut F1 season in style by snatching 13th overall from Jaime Alguersuari.

The Bathgate Bullet scooped four championship points after steering his car to eighth in the Brazilian Grand Prix, lifting him a point above the Spaniard.

Di Resta (above after the race) admits it was a dream end to the season for the F1 rookie.

He said: “My eighth place is a great result after quite a tough race for me.

“There was a concern with the gearbox around halfway through the race, so the team told me to just try to bring the car home.

“In the final stint, it was just a case of managing the gap to Kobayashi behind me and we had enough to do that quite easily in the end.

“So that’s the end of my first season of F1 and it’s been great.”

Di Resta’s finish, coupled with team-mate Sutil’s sixth place, solidified Force India’s sixth spot for the season.

“It’s well deserved for the entire team,” said Di Resta

“It’s been a great year, especially now we have finished sixth in the championship.”
