LOTHIAN Running Club had 16 runners in action at Saturday’s East District Cross-Country League meeting held at Stirling University.There were nine in the Senior Men’s race, five in the Senior Women’s race and one each in the Girls’ under-11 and under-13 races.The weather was fine and conditions overhead and underfoot were ideal for the various races.The Senior Men’s race was over a 9k course and leading home the Lothian contingent in a fine seventh place was Max McNeil followed by Ross Milne in 15th and Colin Partridge in 34th.The Senior Women’s race was over 6K and first club runner home in 10th place overall was Sarah Inglis, with Saran Jones (40th) and Lynn Galloway (46th) following her over the finish line.In the team competition the club’s men’s and women’s teams finished in 9th place, with 37 teams in the men’s competition and 31 in the women’s.In the Junior races Lauren Anderson placed 21st in the Girl’s under-11 race over 1.6k, with Hannah Stewart 29th in the 2.5k Girls under-13 contest.Club results:Senior Men’s 9K: 7th Max McNeil [30.57], 15th Ross Milne [31.44], 34th Colin Partridge [33.38], 43rd Ally Robertson [34.08], 111th Kenton Jones [38.02], 181st Jim Alexander [44.17], 189th Kenny Mearns [45.30], 202nd Colin Banham [49.50], 209th David Wardman [58.22].Senior’s Women 6K: 10th Sarah Inglis [23.49], 40th Saran Jones [27.52], 46th Lynn Galloway [28.48], 58th Ashley Toner [29.23], 77th Mags Turnbull [32.12].Girls Under-11 1.6K 21st Lauren Anderson [6.59].Girls Under-13 2.5K:29th Hannah Stewart [15.04].Lothian RC host the second match in the East District League which takes place on Sunday, November 20, at Deans, Livingston.The final match at Broxburn is in January.The club’s Jill Horsburgh claimed a bronze medal in the Female Super Vet category [50-59] in Sunday’s Aviemore Half Marathon.Jill was the club’s only representative and completed the course in one hour 42 minutes 36 seconds, placing her 190th overall from 865 finishers.While on holiday in South Wales, last weekend Lothian runner Gerry McCafferty took part in the Cardiff Half Marathon at the weekend.Gerry completed the course from Cardiff Bay in 1:38:33, which placed him 1352nd among a record entry of over 15,000.The club were once again represented at the Parkruns at the weekend and there were PBs for both Suzie Hannah and Shona Greig at Strathclyde and Falkirk respectively.Edinburgh Parkrun was celebrating its 100th anniversary event and West Lothian had a handful of runners among the big entry of 284 who turned out for the special day.100th Edinburgh Parkrun (284 entrants): 23rd, John Malcolm [19.39], 33rd; 2nd female, Jocelyn Moar [20.19]; 48th and 3rd female Lana Turnbull 20.57]; 54th and 4th female Leanne Webster [21.12]; 115th and 13th female Shona Young [23.46].
