Snoddy ready to take up offers

ROBERT Snodgrass has admitted the full-time whistle has blown on his Livingston career.

The fans’ favourite is out of contract at the club and after considering an offer from the new owners and from clubs on both sides of the border he has decided the time is right to move on.

But as he is under the age of 23 Livingston will be due compensation and he fears an excessive demand could scupper his hopes of moving.

He said: “I haven’t decided yet, but I hope to know where my future is within the next 24 to 48 hours.

“I’ve had offers from Dundee, Hamilton and Kilmarnock but I don’t think Hamilton and Killie are keen on paying compensation.

“I’ve also had interesting offers from four or five teams in England.

“I’ve been down south over the past couple of weeks visiting the clubs and their stadiums and I feel the time is right for a fresh challenge.

“I don’t really know what’s going on until I speak to my agent again this week.”

Snoddy was offered a new deal by incoming chairman Angelo Massone but despite being offered terms that were reported to be double that of a previous offer he has snubbed the deal.

Snodgrass added: “The new owners of Livingston offered me a three-year deal but I told them I was keen to move on and take the next step in my career.”

The Scotland Under-21 star exploded on to the Lions’ first-team scene in 2005 and was linked with a sensational switch to Barcelona a year later.

Snoddy matured and progressed under the tutelage of former manager Mark Proctor last season, when he scored 10 goals from the left-wing.

But it now looks likely that he will be following fellow youth-team fledgling and Scotland Under-21 cap Graham Dorrans out of the Livi nest and on to English football.
