Landi praises young players

ROBERTO Landi insists his young Livingston side can take heart from their display at Celtic Park and on into the heat of the First Division title battle.

Livi’s boss admitted it was a tough game for his side at the home of the SPL champs, but he is sure it can only help the development of his players.

He said: “I am very happy and not at all disappointed as I feel we played the match against Celtic at Celtic Park with no pressure.

“We had a dream, but although the dream is finished I am very satisfied with how my team performed.

“I see my team play good football with the ball on the floor. We enjoyed good possession but I know that with the quality of the Celtic players it would be tough over 90 minutes.

“They are a big, strong team while our players are mostly of a small size and we try to use our speed and movement of the ball.

“It was a fantastic experience for my young players and now they understand what it feels like to play against a Premier League team.

“It was a very good schooling for my players.”
