ROBERTO Landi praised Callum Elliot after his wonder goal clinched three points for Livingston and then urged the board to tie the on-loan striker down for the rest of the season.
He said: “I don’t know what is happening with Elliot but I really hope we can keep him here until the end of the season.
“I would like him here and hope our board can come to a good agreement with Hearts to let him stay.”
After three losses on the bounce Livi returned to form and saw off strugglers Morton on Saturday.
And Landi reckons this was always going to happen.
“The three defeats we had against Queen of the South, St Johnstone and Clyde were as much our own doing as they were to do with the other teams,” he insisted.
“We made mistakes and I don’t think the other sides were that much better than us.
“It is normal for a team to have two or three bad moments during a season but I knew we would get back to form.
“Another defeat on Saturday would have been very hard on the team and made it difficult for us.
“But despite us losing three times we are still just two points behind at the top.”
This Saturday Landi leads his Lions to New Broomfield to face an Airdrie side who have already enjoyed a win over his men this season.
Landi added: “We have a big fight on Saturday against a team who beat us already.
“So we have the chance to go there and take back the three points they took of us and we will be doing our best to do that.”
