REPORTS that Livingston have agreed a deal to take Cameroonian right back Thierry Gathuessi to the club in January have been dismissed by new boss Paul Hegarty.
The Hibernian defender has been told to find a new club by Easter Road boss Mixu Paatelainen.
However, Lions manager Hegarty says he is not on the Almondvale clubs New Year shopping list although he has admitted that the Livingston club have been watching several players with a view to strengthening thew squad in the new year transfer window.
He said: “We have looked at a number of players for all positions in the squad but at the moment he (Gatheussi) is not one of them.
“We have been speaking to several clubs about the availability of players and we have a list of targets on our radar.
“However, I would stress that at the present time no deals for anyone have been confirmed.
“We have had a few players in at the club over the past week and we will continue to do this as we are like all other clubs in the fact that we are keen to strengthen and the window is coming upon us quickly.”
Gathuessi has struggled to make an impression at Easter Road but he is fondly remembered for scoring a wonder goal against Celtic.
