Ross County 2 Livingston 2
A FORMER Livingston favourite came back to haunt his former club this weekend by netting a late double to deny Davie Hay a win on his return to the hot-seat.
Goals from Leigh Griffiths and Andy Halliday had the county club coasting before a double whammy from former Livingston striker Steven Craig snatched a point for the hosts at Victoria Park.
After a week of suspensions, rumours and alleged non-payment of wages it was back to the serious business on the park for Livi and the side looked eager to impress new boss Hay, back for a second stint as manager after leading the club to CIS Cup glory a little over five years ago.
A weak defensive header from Scott Boyd gave newly crowned First Division Players Player of the Year Griffiths a sniff of goal but the livewire striker was hauled back by Alex Keddie.
The Dingwall side may have thought they had denied Grififths a goalscoring chance but the teenager proved otherwise by curling home a brilliant free-kick.
After the break a handball from Chris Malone earned County a penalty but Sean Higgins’ spot-kick was drilled straight against Roddy McKenzie’s legs.
The penalty miss looked to weigh heavily on the Highland players’ minds as they fell 2-0 behind shortly afterwards.
A Gary Miller corner was poked over the line by Halliday for this first senior goal and the points looked to be in the bag for Livingston.
But Craig had other ideas and embarked on a one-man crusade to snatch a share of the spoils.
First he halved the deficit from the edge of the box with a stunning drive before he converted a penalty after being hauled down himself by Livi sub Cammy Macdonald.
