LIVINGSTON look set to be sent into administration for the second time in just five years tomorrow (Friday) after a court appearance at the Court of Session in Edinburgh was confirmed for 9.30am.
The Lions are being taken to court by West Lothian Council in a bid to recover outstanding debts.
The council will ask the court to place Livingston into administration, with the aim of securing a long-term future for the club.
Livingston owes the council in excess of £330,000 in a combination of rent, building insurance and non-domestic rates.
Council Leader Peter Johnston said: "A secure future for senior football in West Lothian remains our priority, and we have taken this legal action with great reluctance.
"We have been flexible, patient and reasonable with regards to the club’s plight and have given the club’s owners ample opportunity to meet their outstanding obligations.
"However, we have a clear duty to all residents and businesses in West Lothian to make every effort to ensure the debt is re-paid. We hope Livingston’s loyal fans will appreciate that this regrettable action is both necessary and appropriate.
"We would like to see a stable and successful Livingston football club in the heart of the local community for many years to come, and placing the club in administration would be the first step in this process."
