LIVINGSTON FC have been handed a second chance after chairman Angelo Massone was persuaded to sell up and quit the crisis hit club.
LIVINGSTON FC have been handed a second chance after chairman Angelo Massone was persuaded to sell up and quit the crisis hit club.
As a result, the Lions are under the stewardship of new owners and are in a position to survive and move forward.
This week the Courier took to the streets of Livingston to get reactions from some of the relived supporters.
DONNIE MACNEIL from Livingston revealed he has never been a fan of Massone.
He said: “I’ve been warning people about Massone for months but I’m delighted the whole thing looks to be resolved now. I am still concerned we could be demoted to the Third Division.”
LIVINGSTON resident Gary Carden wanted to thank the Livi For Life Supporters Trust for helping save the club from oblivion.
He said: “The Trust have had so much stick over the past few months but I felt they were the right option. It feels great now knowing we have another chance and I feel we are in safe hands.”
PAUL FERRY from South Queensferry spent a nerve-shredding day on the steps at Hampden waiting for news.
He said: “I have feelings of relief and surprise and spent a long day at Hampden. We didn’t know how it was going to end but we let out a huge cheer and sigh of relief when some reporters came out and told us the news.”
FELLOW Lions’ fan Steve Gregory from Livingston admits he has been left stunned.
He said: “What a difference a day makes. I thought we were doomed after Massone refused to sell his shares and I didn’t believe we weren't until I heard it on the news.”
