TONY McParland has hit out at the snipers taking shots at Livingston’s latest appeal against their demotion to the Third Division.
The Lions winger reckons the criticisms aimed at the club is unfair especially when the club looks to have finally turned the corner after a year from hell.
The player says that it has been a particularly hard year for all the players - and their families.
He said: “It has been a really tough year at Almondvale.
“Most of the players have families, mortgages and car payments and the like and while we've not been getting paid we have not been able to cover our bills.
"And we have a lot of young boys who are not earning a lot and struggling to cover petrol money to even get in to train at the club.
“Every player and other members of staff at the club have been affected by the situation.
“It certainly has been a tough year for everyone at the club and all we want to do is concentrate on playing football again.
"It is certainly a bit of relief for everyone concerned that there has been a change of ownership at the club in the past few weeks but we know there are still a few things in the balance and not everything is crystal clear yet as far as the future is concerned.
"I think the comments of other clubs attacking Livi for appealing their demotion is unfair.
“The guys who have come in at the club and taken over have the best intentions at heart and just want to do their best for this club.”
