Ex-Livingston ace Armand One unhappy with amount of time added by ref in league clash

ARMAND ONE shared his Stranraer team-mates frustration at referee Thomas Robertson for the length of injury time added during Saturday’s league match.

But the big striker, who left Livingston in the summer, admits he was too knackered to chase the whistler at the final whistle after a hard slog against the Lions back line.

The Blues were denied a shock win by Liam Fox’s 94th-minute leveller and One was as gutted as anyone after the referee went beyond the three allocated extra minutes.

“Livingston were pushing us hard but, if I’m honest, I felt we had them beaten,” said One.

“We kept our shape well and I thought we’d done enough for the win but then the referee played all those extra minutes of injury time.

“I can understand why so many of my team-mates were angry at the end. I was as well but I was simply too knackered to chase the referee like they did at the end.

“I was absolutely shattered at the end of the match, as it was only my second game since leaving Gateshead.

“We are only part-time here at Stranraer, so I’ve only been training two or three times a week and I felt tired after the game.”

Since signing up with the Stair Park club, One has helped his club to four points in two games and is loving life back in Scotland.

But he remains convinced the Third Division title is heading for Almondvale, where he reckons his old team are shoe-ins for championship glory.

He added: “So far, it’s gone very well at Stranraer and we’re undefeated since I joined.

“I am still convinced Livingston will win the league this season and the way they played against us shows they are a great team and they are top of for a reason.”
