GED NIXON has confirmed Livingston wonderkid Andy Halliday did visit Gordon Strachan’s Middlesbrough recently but has stressed no deal has been made.
The Livingston chief executive has also revealed Halliday could yet extend his stay in West Lothian as a new contract offer for the 18-year-old starlet remains on the table.
Nixon explained: “It is true there has been contact with Middlesborough, as there has been with a number of other clubs regarding Andy.
“We are in regular contact with his agent and both parties are continuing to weigh up their options.
“The door is not closed on Andy staying with us and signing a new contract.
‘The situation we have at the moment is very amicable and a work in progress.
“Andy did visit Middlesbrough recently to have a look around the place but it wasn’t a trial as some people believe.”
Halliday has been in superb this season and he has scored in successive wins for Livingston over title rivals East Stirlingshire, including Tuesday’s 2-0 success at Almondvale.
