Livingston manager Gary Bollan thrilled with Shire win

LIVINGSTON manager Gary Bollan knows his side are in a great position to clinch title glory and promotion from the Third Division at the first attempt.

He said: “I think any win is important for the club but especially so when it comes against the team who are second in the league.

“It was vitally important we got the win – and we did – which we are delighted with.

“We have a wee gap at the top and we are in a good position now but we’ll see how it goes over the coming weeks.

“I think it is fair to say it is our title to lose now but East Stirling and Forfar won’t give anything up and I expect them to keep chasing our tails.

“But we know if we look after ourselves then that’s all we need as it is entirely up to us.”

The games will continue to come thick and fast this month for Bollan after a winter of several postponed matches.

And the Livi boss has admitted he will have to utilise his entire squad over the coming weeks.

He added: “Everyone thinks we have an endless squad but we actually have the same numbers as most of the other teams.

“I’ve said to the players I had to leave out or on the bench that over the coming weeks they’ll need to be ready as they will have to play their part as we have a large number of games to play.”
