Gary Bollan preparing for Third Division title D-Day

GARY BOLLAN has led Livingston to the brink of championship glory but he knows taking the point needed against title rivals Forfar is easier said than done.

The Loons already have an Almondvale win to their name this season and are the only side who can mathematically still pip Livi to the championship.

So Bollan knows they will desperate to be the Lions title party poopers.

He said: “We need a point now to win the league but we’ll certainly be looking to win the game.

“We know what Forfar are all about and we know how they’ll set up and they’ll make things very difficult for us as they have in the past.

“And they definitely won’t want us to win the league against them on Saturday but it is all in our own hands.

“Hopefully, it will be a good occasion for us and the fans and give them something to cheer about come five o’clock.

“Winning the championship is what we all set out to do at the start of the season.

“We can do it on Saturday and we want to do it then but if we don’t, we’ll have other chances.”

Bollan also revealed his relief at seeing Andy Halliday’s injury time header nestle in the back of the net to dump Montrose in midweek.

It looked for long spells as if Livi would have to settle for a draw until Bollan sent on Halliday and Jim Hamilton.

He added: “Montrose came with their game plan to sit in and frustrate us, which they did, but it was up to us to unlock them.

“Andy definitely has that wee bit of spark and gives us something extra when we comes off the bench and he did well to get us a goal.

“We left it later than I’d have liked but we kept going to the end.”
