Jacobs cracker for Livingston

Jacobs brothers

LIVINGSTON could have created Scottish football history on Tuesday night when four brothers teamed up for the first time.

It was certainly a club first but it could also be a Scottish first as the Jacobs quartet turned out in the home win over Albion Rovers.

Sheldon Jacobs came on as a second-half sub to join his triplet brothers Devon and Kyle on the park alongside big brother Keaghan.

The siblings were named joint men of the match but eldest Keaghan was adamant he’d be taking the champagne for himself.

He joked: “I’m having the champagne and I’ll bully the rest into making sure I get it.

“I didn’t really give Sheldon any advice before his debut except just to try and play his usual game as he is good enough for the first-team. Hopefully it won’t be the last time we all line up together and we keep progressing together.”

Debutant Sheldon said: “It was great to finally get on the park and play alongside my brothers. It was a great feeling and even when I was the last of the brothers to get a chance I was confident I’d get my opportunity and I did tonight.”

Midfielder Kyle said: “I’ve loved my first season with the seniors and it has gone much better than I expected.

“I’ve played more than 10 games for the seniors so I hope I’m eligible for a medal. The gaffer has shown his faith in me which has been really encouraging.”

Full-back Devon looked to be on his way out of the club after quitting under the Massone era last year returned after the club was taken over last summer. He said: “It has been great to return to the club and be back playing alongside my brothers. Hopefully I’ve shown enough this season to establish myself as first-choice right-back.

“Our mum was in the stand watching us tonight and seeing all four of on the pitch at the same time would have been a proud moment for her too.”
