Jacobs loved first full season in Livi boiler room

IT was perhaps fitting that the final goal of Livingston’s season was converted by midfield marvel Keaghan Jacobs.

After all, the 20-year-old has been among the club’s top performers this season.

While the likes of wing wizard Andy Halliday and goal-king Robbie Winters have hogged the headlines, Jacobs has quietly gone about his business with minimum fuss and maximum effort.

He has played in all but two of the Lions’ 36 league fixtures and only missed those after suffering a collar-bone injury and he admits it has been a campaign to remember.

He said: “It was good to sign off for the summer with a win and personally speaking with a goal and a man of the match award.

“I was really pleased with my goal too. I remember Robbie flicked it round the corner and I managed to beat the defender to the ball, flicked it over him and managed to lob it over the keeper who had raced off his line.

“I felt the season went really well for me personally. I played most weeks in my first full season and it has been great for everyone involved especially after the drama of last summer.

“What a difference a year can make.

“It was great to get my hands on the trophy and being so young I feel it was a great achievement.

“Hopefully it isn't the last trophy we win and if we can build on the team we have hopefully we can go on and try and win the Second Division.

“Looking ahead to next season I plan to keep ticking over in the summer, go to the gym and work with my brothers over the break before the new season.

“It was sad to see Roddy, Andy and Danny going. They have all been great this season.

“Danny and Roddy were always great offering their experience to help me through games with advice and Andy is a great wee player and they’ll all be missed.”
