Alondvale Stadium no more as Livi sell naming rights to home ground

LIVINGSTON fans will be flocking to The Braidwood Motor Company Stadium next season to cheer on their heroes after the West Lothian club confirmed a three-year naming rights deal.

The Third Division champions have agreed a deal with the local firm until the end of the 2012-13 season which will generate a five-figure sum for the club.

Livingston Chief Executive Ged Nixon hailed the partnership with the motoring firm andadmitted it comes as another welcome boost to the West Lothian club.

He said: “It is a very exciting and lucrative piece of business for the club and it further cements the reinvigoration of Livingston FC, with another successful company having the faith to invest in us.

“It is exceptionally good news and adds greatly to the club’s finances in these hard economic times for everybody in Scottish football.

“We are absolutely thrilled that somebody has bought into the Livingston brand.”

Braidwood’s Neil Hogarth, a keen Livingston supporter, said: “We’re very pleased to be putting our name to a stadium we have enjoyed visiting on many occasions in the past.

“From a commercial perspective, it’s a great opportunity to raise awareness of our business at a local and national level and we wish Livingston good luck and continued success at The Braidwood Motor Company Stadium over the next three years.

“The fact is that Livingston are moving forward and are on a sound footing and looking to continue to move up the leagues.

“And if the success continues for the club, maybe a wee bit of it will rub off on ourselves.

“Hopefully, the new deal will give both ourselves and Livingston a bit of credibility and if people see the sign, it may help us.”

Charles Burnett, Livingston FC’s commercial director added: “Braidwood have been good friends of the club for a number of years now and we’re delighted that they have chosen to strengthen their association with us through this new sponsorship.

“We are working hard to build relationships with West Lothian businesses, and as well as being an important deal from a financial perspective, we see it as a big vote of confidence from the local community as we look to build a successful and sustainable future.”

The Braidwood Motor Company are a family-run business based in Pumpherston, on the outskirts of Livingston.

Over the last 16 years, they have developed a strong reputation for excellent service in all aspects of the motor trade, from finance to sourcing cars, enabling customers from West Lothian and beyond to buy the car they want.
