Gordon McDougall reveals football family plans picking up speed

GORDON McDOUGALL has confirmed this week Livingston FC hope to roll out his revolutionary Football Family concept next month.

The Courier exclusively revealed two weeks ago that the club chairman wanted to bring in a new scheme which would see season-ticket holders of other clubs allowed into Livi home matches at a reduced cost.

McDougall has now confirmed feedback from Livingston supporters has been universally positive and now, pending the ironing out and checking of a few football legislative rules, he hopes to launch the scheme next month.

He said: “We hope to set the scheme in motion soon, hopefully in time for the Dumbarton match on November 6.

“Feedback has been good and we haven’t had one derogatory comment.

“There have also been a few ideas thrown in which merited consideration but we have to set out the rules for this to work.

“One thing we have to check with the SFL is if we are allowed to charge our own home support and the away support the same amount but give season -ticket holders of other clubs a discount.

“It wouldn’t make sense or be fair to our own fans for us to let Dumbarton season-ticket holders in for just £6 when they are playing us but we have to check if it is legal and if the league are happy with it.”
