Gary Bollan admits his side have yet to peak in Second Division
GARY BOLLAN reckons Livingston have yet to hit their Second Division stride this season.
The Lions manager also believes his side were playing better at this stage last season but as they continue to pick up points and maintain a title charge he remains delighted.
He said: “I’ve said to the players we were maybe putting in better performances last season and I don’t think, at this stage, we have actually peaked yet but hopefully that is coming though in the not too distant future.”
Last weekend Livi eased out a 1-0 win over visiting Peterhead and although Bollan admits it wasn’t a vintage display he insists taking the points is the most important thing.
He continued: “Looking back on the Peterhead match I think we’ve got to be happy with another three points.
“I think though a better performance, in certain stages of the game, would have helped.
“I know week-in week-out that the application and attitude of our players is spot on and I have no problem with that at all.
“It would though have been nice to put on a better performance and put on a show, especially at home, but at the end of the day the points are the most important thing.
“Some teams come here and sit in while others will come and open up a bit.
“But at the end of the day when we are at home we have to get on the front foot and try and break them down. It is up to is to do that.”
Livingston are on their travels on Saturday as they head up to Angus for a clash with familiar foes Forfar.
Bollan added: “Forfar are going well and have had a couple of good results recently.
“They had a great result away to East Fife so we are under no illusions how hard a game it will be for us up there as we played them four times last season as well as earlier this one.
“I would say the game against Forfar in August was probably the best we have played this season so we are looking to do that again this weekend.”
Keaghan Jacobs and Jason Talbot are both still unavailable but those two apart the Lions have a full squad to choose from.
