Livingston FC October holiday coaching sessions draw football fledglings out
MORE than 30 football fledglings from all over West Lothian enjoyed a taste of life as a Livingston footballer recently as part of the club’s ever-popular coaching in the community sessions.
The Second Division high-flyers hosted a week-long series of training and coaching sessions on the field-turf behind the Braidwood Motor Company Stadium.
And the talented youngsters had a glimpse of life as a footballer by sharing a pitch each day with members of the hugely successful Livingston Under-19 side.
Under-19 stopper Neil Hastings even took part in one of the sessions and passed on some tips of his own to the aspiring footballers with a special coaching class.
Leigh Roberts, Community Coach at Livingston FC, said: “We were really delighted to welcome so many young players to Livingston for the week and it was great to see so many opting to stay for full-day sessions rather than half-day ones.
“The children who attended got the chance to have some fun, learn some new skills and make new friends as well as having a wee glimpse at life as a Livingston player as the Under-19s were on the same pitch as us training throughout the week.”
