KYLE JACOBS is determined to celebrate signing a new deal with Livingston by gunning down Partick Thistle on Saturday.
The midfielder snatched a late winner for Livi the last time the two sides met.
And after the Lions lost their first home match in over a year against Ross County last weekend, he’s hoping his side get their season back on track with a win at Firhill.
“It was very disappointing to lose at home to Ross County,” said Jacobs, whose new deal will take him through to summer 2013.
“But we are still in a strong position in the league and we need to keep the momentum going.
“I’d be delighted to get another goal against Partick.
“Although, hopefully, we won’t have to leave it to the last minute this time and we can win a bit more comfortably.
“It was great scoring the last one and it would be good to do the same again.
“But getting the win for the team is the most important thing.”
Jacobs accepts Livi’s 3-0 defeat on Saturday was a fair result, he doesn’t think his team gave a good account of themselves on the day.
The 20-year-old said: “I don’t think they are streets ahead of us.
“We performed below our normal standards and we lost a player at an important time in the game.
“They deserved to beat us on the day, but I really don’t think they’re that far ahead of us.
“At the start of the season, our only aim was to make sure we stayed in the division.
“But now that we’re doing well, I think we’re looking at trying to stay in the top half and try to challenge at the top end.”
