Whitburn face make-or-break Super League title clash

THE game of the weekend takes place at Central Park on Saturday when two Super League titans clash in what will be a thriller.

Title hopefuls Whitburn host Tayport in a game which they simply must win to maintain their hopes of taking the championship flag.

The Burnie may have star striker Colin Strickland back after his recent injury for this huge game against the recent Scottish Cup winners.

Tayport will be a difficult nut to crack for Derek Strickland’s men but they do have a good record against the North Fife side.

Elsewhere, Scottish Cup finalists Bathgate Thistle host Glenrothes.

A point for the visitors would make them safe from relegation so expect a stout defensive game from them.

But Bathgate are using these games to give everyone squad member an opportunity to impress before the Scottish Cup Final and it is important they maintain their form.

Kelty Hearts welcome Linlithgow Rose in a rerun of last season’s Scottish Cup final at East End Park.

Rose hope to have one or two injured players back and use them to stiffen up a defence which gave Haddington a lifeline last week.

In the Premier League Armadale play host to Arniston with Arniston desperate for points as things become tight at the bottom.

And in the South Division Fauldhouse entertain Dunbar while Broxburn could kill off Sauchie’s hopes of the title if they beat them.

Harthill are on their travels to Edinburgh with Livingston and Pumpherston meet in a local derby.

West Calder are at Tranent and Stoneyburn face Dalkeith.

Finally Blackburn are at home to Haddington.
