BATHGATE got back to winning ways in the Super League with a 1-0 home win over Glenrothes.
It was a good win for Bathgate, who introduced their newest signing as a sub in the second-half.
John (Chalky) Elliott has just signed from Bonnyrigg Rose after the club chased him from the start of the season.
He was a mainstay of the Bonnyrigg side that won silverware in the season he spent there.
He has been capped by Scotland Juniors and also has bags of senior experience. Chalky is a class act, who the Bathgate supporters will relish watching.
However, they had a game of football on their hands when Glenrothes visited.
Glenrothes were reduced to 10 men as early as the 11th minute when Mark Buist was sent off after a clash with Chris McFadyen.
Bathgate pressed hard and on 30 minutes scored the only goal of the game.
A good three-man move involving first McPhee, then McGrillen ended with Chris McFadyen slotting the ball home.
There was no more scoring but when Elliott was introduced to the fray his class shone through.
Bathgate: Carlin, Nicolson, Neill, G Love, Menmuir, McColligan, Easton, Reiley, McPhee, McGrillen, McFadyen. Subs: Elliott, P Harvey, Fallon, Gutwell, Longmuir.
Glenrothes: Roberts, Gibson, McBride, Buist, Cunningham, Mills, Duffy, Gartshore, Meikle, Andrew, Nicol. Subs: Fortune, Linton, Halley, Drummond, Simpson.
IN the South Division Stoneyburn suffered their season’s first league loss when Edinburgh beat them by a late goal.
HARTHILL had better luck facing the table-toppers Haddington, winning by the odd goal in three to take all three points home.
ARMADALE kept up their pressure at the top of the table with a good 2-0 win at home to Dalkeith who have been going well.
