THE shackles were being unlocked on a number of West Lothian’s junior sides last night (Wednesday) – though it will be Saturday before the majority of the county’s clubs will be unleashed for the new season.
There are several mouth-watering cup ties on the card for the League Cup this weekend.
Harthill are at Camelon in what promises to be a tough encounter, while Pumpherston will need to be at their best to dispose of Linlithgow at home.
Newly promoted Armadale are at home to West Calder, with Bathgate travelling to Sauchie in what could be an emotional encounter for the Jags after the tragic death of striker Paul McGrillen.
Stoneyburn meet Blackburn in a local derby while Fauldhouse are at home to Broxburn.
Meanwhile Super League side Whitburn travel to Dalkeith.
The Junior football bandwagon continues on Wednesday with another round of League Cup fixtures.
Armadale are away at league newcomers Spartans, with Linlithgow at home to West Calder.
Pumpherston are at holders Newtongrange while Harthill have a home game against Super League side Bathgate.
Stoneyburn travel to Camelon and Livingston host Sauchie.
Fauldhouse entertain Edinburgh with Broxburn at home to Dalkeith.
There is also an all Super League clash when Whitburn travel to Bo’ness to round the action off.
