Kirstin got a kick out of winning a Scotland cap

FORMER Whitburn Academy pupil Kirstin Bowden represented Scotland in the CYP (Clubs for Young People) Under-16 Four Nations Rose Bowl football tournament in Northern Ireland last week.

Despite helping Scotland beat Northern Ireland 7-0 and Wales 5-0 the team found that their 1-1 draw against England was not enough to stop England winning the tournament on goal difference.

After the tournament, Kirstin said: “It was a great honour to represent Scotland in a Four Nations Tournament.

“The team did very well and, despite not winning it overall, it was a great experience taking part in the tournament.”

Kirstin currently plays for East Kilbride Thistle Ladies team but has been put forward for a trial with Motherwell Ladies.
