Dale given tough welcome to Premier League

ARMADALE unfurled the league flag they won for winning last season’s South Division on Saturday but their return to the Premier League had no happy ending.

The newly promoted Dale were desperate to earn a win and send their fans home happy but it wasn’t to be as visitors Forfar West End ran out 3-2 winners.

Ryan Johnstone put the hosts in front before Forfar levelled then took the lead.

After the break and Armadale fought back onto level terms when Robbie Feeney scored from the penalty spot on 70 minutes.

But unfortunately Dale keeper Bob Woods gifted the spoils to the guests late on after punching the ball into his net for an own-goal and ultimately dramatic winner.
