Cup journey takes the coastal route

THE spotlight turns to the Holy Grail of Junior football this weekend as county clubs embark on what they will each hope is a long journey in the Emirates Scottish Junior Cup.

Three county clubs are scheduled to be in action and they each face a tricky tie.

Tie of the round is likely to be on the coast in Greenock where Whitburn visit.

The Burnie expect a tricky encounter though their attempt to travel to watch Greenock play recently hit the skids when an accident on the M8 caused gridlock and meant there was no way through for the Whitburn contingent.

Harthill look to be up against it as they face Super League big-hitters Camelon while Livingston are also on their travels away at Stonehaven.

In the Super League, Bathgate are at Bo’ness while Linlithgow face Newtongrange away.

The Premier League sees Fauldhouse away at Forfar West End and Armadale away at Ballingry.

In the South Division West Calder face league leaders Tranent while Pumpherston face a struggling Dalkeith side.

Stoneyburn are at Sauchie with Blackburn at the seaside against Dunbar and finally Broxburn face Haddington away.
