TWO Armadale Academy pupils could be strutting their stuff live on Sky Sports after being handed call-ups to the Scottish Schools football squad.
Fraser Keast and Andrew Murphy have been handed places in the Scottish Schools’ FA squad who have been lined up play Australia and New Zealand early next year.
Both friendly matches are warm ups for the Centenary Shield international programme of games against England (live on Sky TV), Wales, Northern Ireland and Republic of Ireland.
The first is taking place at Toryglen, Glasgow, on Feburary 1, will be the third time Australia and Scotland have met at schoolboy level with both country’s boasting a win to their name.
Australia won 2-1 in 2006 but Scotland atoned for that defeat with a crushing 4-1 hammering in 2008.
Both games were played at Hamilton Academical F.C.
The fixture with New Zealand is scheduled for Wednesday, April 7, and will also help the preparations for the big Auld Enemy clash on Friday, April 23, at Carlisle.
Results to date with New Zealand have been favourable with wins at Deveronvale (2-0) in 2000 and at Linlithgow Rose in 2004 (3-1).
